The PSL Scale Tiers (1.0 – 8.0)
Based on statistical population percentiles and neoclassical facial harmony.
Sub-5 Tier
Marked by prominent bilateral asymmetry, negative canthal tilt, or significant facial thirds disproportions.
LTN (Low-Tier Normie)
Everyday natural facial balance with minor asymmetries and moderate jawline definition. High potential for styling improvements.
MTN (Mid-Tier Normie)
The population median. Balanced horizontal eye plane, proportional thirds, and solid aesthetic harmony.
HTN (High-Tier Normie)
Above-average facial bone structure, clear zygomatic cheekbone definition, balanced gonial jaw angle, and strong eye harmony.
Chadlite / Model Class
Distinct dimorphic features, positive canthal tilt, high bilateral symmetry (>92%), and sharp jawline contouring.
Chad / Elite Aesthetic
Exceptional cranial harmony adhering to neoclassical golden ratios, positive hunter canthal tilt, and chiseled mandible structure.
Canthal Tilt Angle
Measures the palpebral fissure inclination. Positive tilt (+2° to +6°) creates almond 'hunter eyes' with tight lower eyelid support, whereas negative tilt creates downward palpebral slope.
Bilateral Symmetry
Evaluates 7 paired anatomical coordinates against your vertical facial midline axis. Symmetry above 90% is a primary biological marker of developmental stability and perceived attractiveness.
Golden Ratio (Phi 1.618)
Compares your facial thirds (forehead hairline to brow, brow to nose base, nose base to chin) and length-to-cheekbone ratios against the classical 1.618 divine proportion.
PSL Scale & Facial Rating FAQs
What is the PSL scale and what does it stand for?▼
PSL stands for 'Pure Sexual Looks'. It is an objective 1.0 to 8.0 facial rating framework utilized in facial aesthetics, craniofacial surgery, and looksmaxxing research. Unlike subjective beauty opinions, the PSL scale evaluates measurable anatomical traits: bilateral symmetry, neoclassical facial thirds, canthal tilt angle, golden ratio (Phi 1.618) alignment, and jawline definition.
What are the standard PSL scale tiers?▼
The PSL framework categorizes facial aesthetics into six distinct tiers: Sub-5 (1.0–2.9), LTN / Low-Tier Normie (3.0–3.9), MTN / Mid-Tier Normie (4.0–4.9, the statistical median), HTN / High-Tier Normie (5.0–5.9, above-average bone structure), Chadlite (6.0–6.9, professional modeling tier), and Chad / Elite Tier (7.0–8.0, top 1–2% anatomical harmony).
What is Canthal Tilt and how is it measured?▼
Canthal tilt is the angle formed by the palpebral fissure between the inner corner (medial canthus) and outer corner (lateral canthus) of the eye. A positive canthal tilt (+2° to +6°) occurs when the outer corner sits higher than the inner corner, creating an almond or 'hunter eye' vector. A neutral canthal tilt is horizontal, while a negative canthal tilt slopes downward.
Can you increase your PSL rating and looksmaxxing potential?▼
Yes. Every person has an achievable 'soft looksmaxxing' potential (typically +0.8 to +1.4 points) through optimized body fat percentage (which sharpens the jawline and reveals cheekbone structure), tailored haircuts that balance facial thirds, eyebrow grooming that enhances canthal tilt, and balanced mastication posture.
Is this PSL scale calculator private?▼
